Solutions / Data and decision science
Analysis and models that support better decisions.
Good data work starts with a decision, not a dashboard. We clarify what you need to decide, prepare the data, build the analysis or model and explain its assumptions and limits in plain terms, so the result can be used with confidence.
When this helps
- Reports exist, but nobody trusts the numbers enough to decide with them.
- You plan stock, staff or capacity mostly by intuition.
- You want to compare scenarios before an investment or a pricing change.
- Data is spread across systems and spreadsheets.
- A recurring planning task could be calculated rather than estimated.
What we deliver
- Analytics and dashboards
- Clear reporting on the measures that matter, from data you can trace.
- Data preparation
- Cleaning, joining and structuring data from your systems and files.
- Forecasting
- Demand, sales or workload forecasts with an honest view of their uncertainty.
- Mathematical modelling
- Models of how your operation behaves, built to compare options.
- Simulation and scenarios
- Test changes to capacity, pricing or process before making them.
- Optimisation
- Schedules, routes, allocations and plans calculated against your constraints.
How we approach it
Frame the decision
What will be decided, by whom, how often, and what a better decision is worth.
Understand the inputs
Which data exists, how reliable it is and which assumptions fill the gaps.
Build and validate
An analysis or model tested against history and checked with the people who know the business.
Put it to use
Results delivered where decisions are made, with guidance on how to read them.
Common questions
Do we need a lot of data?
Not always. Some decisions can be modelled from a modest amount of data combined with clearly stated assumptions. We tell you early what is realistic.
How do we know a model is right?
We test it against past results, state its assumptions and uncertainty openly and review it with your team. A model is a tool for thinking, not an oracle.
Can you work with our spreadsheets?
Yes. Many projects start from spreadsheet data and move to a more robust setup only where that is worth it.
Will we be able to maintain it?
We design outputs and documentation for the people who will use them and agree how updates are handled.
Have something in mind?
Describe the situation in a few sentences. We will reply to arrange a conversation.
